The Vampire Diaries has taken a dramatic turn. People know there are vampires but they don’t know who they are. Stefan has Damon locked in the basement and Elana is questioning if Stefen is telling her the truth.

Aunt Jena (Sara Canning) has agreed to go out with her high school beau and news reporter Logan. Elana hasn’t seen Stefan in four days. When he shows up at school, he tells her he will explain everything at the grill. At the grill, Stefan is recognized by an old man there and says that he hasn’t aged a day. Stefan quickly leaves.

Stefan and Elana are fixing dinner, when she cuts herself and he turns.

He tries to hide it but she sees it in the window. I thought vampires didn’t have a reflection.  The school has a big car wash to raise money. Bonnie gets mad at a girl and magically makes water spray her down. Elana questions Stefan some more about his history. The old man from the grill shows up and tells her a story that happened in 1953. Stefan’s uncle Joseph was killed by an animal attack. Damon and Stefan were there. Bonnie accidentally uses her magic and catches a car on fire.  Elana uses Logan to find the news story about Joseph. He exchanges it for dinner at their house.  In the news story, Elana sees Stefan. She is dumbfounded.

Caroline keeps hearing Damon. She follows his voice to the Salvatore house. Damon tells her to let him out and she does. What an idiot. He kills the nephew and chases Caroline out of the house. The door comes open and the sunlight hits him. His skin starts to burn because Stefan stole his ring.

At the Gilbert house, Logan rummages through Jeremy’s room until he finds the pocket watch from last week. Elana sits in disbelief. She finally believes that Stefan and Damon are vampires. Finally, she sees the light.

Vicki and some of her friends are partying in a graveyard. She has to run to the car to turn the radio on. At the truck, she sees a guy, who looks sick. It’s Damon. He begs her to come closer. He attacks her.

Stefan is running through the house and finds a wooden stake. When he opens the door Elana is there and she knows the truth.

I knew Damon would be back. Without him there are no vampire attacks. This group of townspeople that know about the vampires have no idea they can walk around in daylight. They have searched all the woods and abandoned homes, with no luck.
