#1 It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown-

How can you not pick Charlie Brown as the number one show? It first aired in 1966 and has been a staple in Halloween television ever since.

#2 The Simpsons Tree House of horror-

Pick your favorite one. The Simpsons Halloween special is always a favorite in our house.

The crazy stories and Ned gets killed in 80% of them. My favorite line, “Dad, you killed Zombie Flanders.” “He was a zombie?”

#3 The Halloweentown series-

I love these shows, created by the Disney Channel. These shows tell the story of a half witch and half human family with a grandmother that lives in Halloweentown, a town where the monsters are real and its Halloween year round.

#4 The Scariest Places on Earth: Halloween Edition-

This show shows you the creepiest places on earth. Some seasons include a family spending the night in one of the locations.

# 5 Scooby Doo: Headless Horseman of Halloween-

All the Scooby Doo’s are classic, however, this show is centered around Halloween and is normally shown on The Cartoon Network around Halloween

#6 Ghost Hunters Halloween Special-

This special is for all the adults out there that want to see proof of a real haunting. Every year the TAPS team chooses a location to do a special live investigation with live help from the viewing audience, via text message and online message boards.

#7 Teen Witch

This show was inspired by Teen Wolf and first aired in 1989. It is now a regular on ABC Family’s 13 Nights of Halloween.

#8 The Halloween Tree-

This show is based on the 1972 novel. The Halloween Tree first aired in the early nineties.

#9 Witch’s Night Out-

This was a Gilda Radner special about a washed up witch that first aired in 1978.

#10 Halloween is Grinch Night-

This 1977 sequel to How the Grinch stole Christmas is hard to catch because it is not aired much anymore.

I have to say, that if given the chance, I would stay up for days and watch nothing but Halloween specials. These are the shows that make Halloween more than trick or treat. Did your favorites make my list? Let me know what your favorite specials are.
