This week the TAPS team investigates the U.S.S. Salem and heads to Canada for the first time. Joe  Chin, from Ghost Hunters International, drops by for a couple of investigations. Will Ghost Hunters find proof of the paranormal?

U.S.S. Salem, Quincy, Mass.

This vessel was built in 1945 and was used mostly during the Cold War. There are many paranormal stories on the ship, from an old employee who died there giving tours to shadow figures and footsteps.  The teams set up and start investigating. Jason and Grant start in the anchor room where the man had died. They hear footsteps and voices outside the room.

Steve and Tango visit the bakery and find an old bunt cake, all crusty and stale. Staying with Steve’s style he offers tango money to eat the cake. The offer goes up to $35, Tango still refused. Then they here a strange taping noise, Steve asks the noise to stop and bang it does. All the teams hear footsteps and strange noises. Joe investigated with Amy but there were no real experiences except a few noises.

After the equipment is reviewed, Jason and Grant head to the reveal. They inform the client that the ship is riddled with high EMF’s, which can cause a myriad of different things. They explain the experiences they had and showed him one EVP, that sounded to me like the word “hello.”

Cornwall Jail, Cornwall, Ontario, Canada

The jail was built in 1833 and would hold 33 inmates. From 1990 to 2002, the jail held 100 inmates at a time. Some interesting history about the jail includes the story of a woman being raped and murdered by the inmates while the jailers watched. As a woman, I was like, “Say What?” What kind of guard would let this happen?

The paranormal reports for the jail included cell doors slamming, apparitions and screams. The team set up and started investigating. For the first half of the investigation nothing really happened. Amy and Kris discovered high EMF’s in the basement near solitary confinement. Jason and Grant went to the regular jail and saw a cell door shut.

The evidence was slim. They had the video of the door shutting and a faint EVP. The EVP was compelling, it sounded like a woman’s moan or scream.

This was a pretty awesome episode. There was not a lot of evidence, but it was enough to keep your attention. I am geared up for next week ,when the team investigates Fort Henry.
