Gemma (Katey Sagal), how I love your wit. When asked by Tara (Maggie Siff) if she’s “dry,” she replies “like the Mojave vagina.” And that isn’t the last time we’re reminded of that disturbing incident a few episodes ago…the gang rape.
Gemma runs into the woman who helped to nab her prior to the rape, and things just get more complicated. The only positive that seems to come from the situation is that Tara and Gemma’s bond grows deeper.
But the gang rape might come out in the open sooner than we all think…because Chief Unser (Dayton Callie) spills the beans to Deputy Chief Hale (Taylor Sheridan) in a desperate effort to get him out of the clutches of the white hate group.
The tension between the white supremacists and Sam Crow builds during this episode, beginning with Clay (Ron Perlman) paying a visit to Sherman’s cigar shop.
It also seems as though the white hate group is attacking the club on the inside, too, where an incarcerated club member almost loses an eye (a gory and yet awesome scene). And this all leads to a showdown in the middle of Main Street, a scene that is strangely reminiscent of the Jets versus the Sharks in Guys and Dolls…just more violent. It all culminates with a nasty explosion, and we’re left wondering if things will ever get better.
Throughout all of this, “The Life and Death of Sam Crow,” John Teller’s (you remember him from the first season of Sons of Anarchy, right? He’s Jax’s dad) vision of the club, circulates hands, finding a home in both Gemma’s and Tara’s hold. Will Jax (Charlie Hunnam) be able to follow through with his promise to set things right in the club?
The tension is boiling to a head, and it’s only a matter of time before it explodes.
