This was another solid episode of Two and a Half Men that dealt with Alan being concerned that Herb and Judith went off on a weekend getaway and left their new baby girl with Judith’s mother, Lenora. Lenora is a recovering drug abuser who got kicked out of the Betty Ford Clinic for biting Britney Spears, at least that’s how it is implied.
Because he is concerned that Lenora shouldn’t be alone with the baby, of which he still believes is his child, Alan agrees to be a standby if Judith’s mother needs help. Soon after Herb and Judith hit the road, Lenore calls on Alan in a very funny phone exchange because she can’t figure out how to turn off the burglar alarm.
Once Alan gets there it comes out that his problem was that she mistook the thermostat for the alarm pad.
He turns off the alarm and helps soothe the baby with his own rendition of the song, “Papa Was A Rolling Stone.” Alan then quickly discovers that Lenore has in fact fallen off the wagon and in perhaps the funniest moment of the entire show, when she proceeds to try and seduce him.
Opposite this weirdness, Jake has just got his new Learner’s Permit and is driving all the adults crazy trying to get them to let him drive their cars. Meanwhile, Charlie runs over a cat he thinks is Chelsea’s and tries to hide it from her, but Jake takes a picture of Charlie with the dead cat and uses it to blackmail him.
This episode of Two and a Half Men was another vintage effort from the writing team. I don’t know what was funnier, Jake trying to get someone to let him drive or Alan’s hilarious scenes with Lenora.
