An arrest was made last weekend in the beating death of 34-year-old rapper and one time Atlanta Housewives co-star, Ashley (A.J.) Jewell, the former fiance of Atlanta Housewives star Kandi Burruss. Reports say that Jewell suffered from massive head trauma after partaking in a fight in the parking lot of Body Tap, an adult strip club in Atlanta that rumors say Jewell was part-owner of, over a woman both men were said to be dating. The fight took place on Friday, October 2nd, and witnesses claim that Jewell and Frederick Richardson were fighting over a woman when the altercation went outside into the parking lot. Richardson who was also hospitalized for injuries sustained during the brawl, was arrested and will be charged with voluntary manslaughter.
Despite frequent arguments with her mother during the airing of Atlanta Housewives over whether or not Burruss should marry Jewell, Burruss was grief stricken at the news. The couple were engaged, but broke it off last August. Burruss noted on her Twitter account that she was devastated by the news, especially in light of the recent death of her uncle. She asked fans and media to respect her privacy while she grieved. She also noted that she was both concerned and sad for Jewell’s six surviving children and his family, and asked her fans to pray for them.
