Lifetime Network hit showArmy Wives starring Kim Delaney is a television drama series that follows the lives of four Army wives and their families, plus an Army husband whose wife is in the Army. The series premiered on June 3, 2007, and had the largest series premiere in Lifetime’s 23-year history. The show airs Sunday nights in the 10 pm time slot.

“Fire In The Hole” aired last night and it covered some intense moments in the lives of the wives. One in particular is the ongoing difficulty of adjusting back to civilian life for Catherine’s son, Jeremy. A week before he was sent home from the war in Iraq, Jeremy’s best friend was killed right in front of him and he is trying to deal with the loss.  He feels guilty because he and his best friend had switched places on the patrol just before the shooting and if they hadn’t Jeremy would have been the one killed instead of his friend.

Back in the States, Jeremy is reunited with a dog named Lucky that saved his life over in Iraq.

Jeremy was able to smuggle him over to the states, but he didn’t know if the dog actually made it over until it breaks away from its new owners to sniff him out and run to Jeremy in a park.  For a few minutes Jeremy seems to have some peace and joy in his life due to being reacquainted with the dog, but his hopes are dashed as he learns that a new family has already adopted the friendly little dog.

Some very humorous parts of the show involved a golf tornament that Roxie decided to play in for fun. Roxie knows nothing about golf and just comes for a good time, practicing in high heels and all. She is a total distraction on the course by her exuberant personality which gets on the other golfers nerves – Claudia’s in particular because she wants to win the tournament so badly.

This was a really good episode of Army Wives that had a great mix of fun, drama and awkward moments that make up an entertaining show. The storyline continues to get more developed when it is revealed that the government is seriously contemplating closing the Army base altogether.
