The Vampire Diaries is still pleasing audiences with interesting stories and awesome characters. Although the series has been accused of ripping off Twilight, many people don’t know that this was based on the books published 12 years before Twilight.
We join our favorite blood suckers this week with Stefan having a dream about Elana’s death. In his dream, she wakes up and sees a news program describing her death. She freaks out and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attacks her. He wakes up with Damon watching him. The so called “animal” that has been attacking people is caught according to the news.
They think it was a mountain lion.
The town is having a Heritage Days party and Elana is asked to bring some artifacts from her family, including a pocket watch. When the watch goes missing, she goes after Jeremy. He did take the watch, but only because it has been passed down from father to son for many generations.
Stefan and his nephew try to devise a plan to weaken Damon enough to control him. The initial plan does not work, however, Stefan knew this and has another plan in mind.
At the party, Damon tries to lie to Caroline to make Elana angry with Stefan. Stefan gives Elana a drink. When he offers Damon a drink, Damon refuses. As they look at old artifacts, they see Stefan and Damon’s name. The brothers tell some wild story about how these are their ancestors, when of course this is them.
Elana sees bruising and scars on Caroline and thinks Damon is beating her. She threatens Damon and goes to Stefan. Stefan says he has it under control. When Damon tries to feed on Caroline, he is struck down because Stefan spiked her drink with vervain. Stefan then locks him in a room with vervain growing.
Some of the elders in the town, including Caroline’s mother and Tyler’s parents, need Elana’s family’s pocket watch because they now know they have vampires.
The Vampire Diaries has become even more interesting now that people know they have vampires. I don’t think the whole burbane closet will hold Damon long. I hope they don’t kill Damon because I have a strong “love-hate” relationship with him.
