In the CSI:NY espisode that aired this week, the show is about a guy killing people without having to be at the crime scene because he is using technology to commit the murders.

Mac, played by Gary Sinise, is the first one who realizes that two seemingly unconnected murders were actually done remotely by one very sophisticated hacker. He then discovers the murderer is so sophisticated that he has been able to hack into their system and monitor Mac working on the case.

The murderer calls Mac and begins taunting him about the murders and after it’s all said and done they figure out that the guy is killing the people responsible for canceling his cancer treatment because he lost his job and health insurance. The guy is slowly dying and has chosen to take his anger out on those who took away his chance to survive the cancer.

The killer takes it to a personal level and assumes Mac will understand why he is doing what he is doing because Mac’s own father died of cancer. We learn that it was Mac’s father who encouraged him to move to New York and start a new life.  When the murderer goes after his third victim they are finally able to put all the pieces together and catch him.

This was a great episode of CSI: NY that had a lot of mystery and technical “stuff” that makes you realize that there are many advanced electronic conveniences that can really do some harm in the wrong hands.
