We return to Accidentally On Purpose where Billie is still dealing with the fact she’s pregnant, the young man who’s the father of her child, and trying so hard to keep it together. It doesn’t help that she barely knows anything about Zach or that he might be leaving.
When Zack drops off Billie’s (Jenna Elfman) house key at work and her boss grills her, Billie realizes she knows almost nothing about Zack’s past or where he’s from. She approaches him on it only for him to blow her off on the matter. After going through his things she finds a picture of herself and a half written letter. Billie gets even more curious and decides to approach Zack’s friend, Davis. She shows him the picture and asks where it came from. Davis explains how Zack met Billie through a game they played called “bar stool roulette,” where the guy spins on the stool and takes a picture with his phone. Whoever the photo is of is who they have to try and get with. Zack happened to photograph Billie.
Davis leaves without explaining the letter and runs to Zack whom we find has been accepted to the Culinary Institute of New York. He can’t decide whether he should go or not and what’s better for the baby. Billie’s ex comes by and terrifies Zack into going, but it’s the doctor who tells Billie about his departure. She goes home and finds Zack at her place. He explains he’s not going to school and wants to stay for her and the baby. He tells her the picture was kept so he could show the baby about the night he met Billie. All is well in their world, but Zack makes Billie promise not to go through his things anymore.
This show is rather adorable, but to be honest I’m not sure it’s going to be on much longer. The characters are fun, Jenna Elfman is great as always, but the plot line tends to drag a bit and it’s a little too goofy. There are a lot of goofy sitcoms out there, will Accidentally On Purpose make the cut?
