My favorite serial killer is back in action.
Dexter, how I’ve missed you. Your dry humor, your sexy tan….your penchant for killing “bad” people. And now, the fact that you’re a daddy living in suburbia dealing with loss of sleep because of Baby Harrison.
Rita (Julie Benz) is still as cute as ever, especially when she corners Dexter (Michael C. Hall) with a large basket full of sex propaganda during the first alone time they’ve had together since the baby was born. Poor Dexter just wants to sleep, but Rita’s hornier than a hooker on a Bible retreat. So, of course, Dexter gives in (who can blame him? Rita’s gorgeous!).
Angel Batista (David Zayas) and Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) are involved. As in, they’re sleeping together. I can’t say that I’m super happy about this new twist, as I love Angel and have a love-hate relationship with Maria. But I am interested to see where this will lead.
Now to the fun stuff: the newest serial killer in Miami! We get to see the Trinity Killer (John Lithgow), as retired FBI Agent Lundy (Keith Carradine) has named him, in action, and he is creepy. In some ways, he’s creepier even than Dexter himself. The Trinity Killer repeats the same three murders cyclically and has been doing so for approximately thirty years. Lithgow is an appropriately weird serial killer, and I look forward to more episodes featuring this strange, strange man.
At the conclusion of the episode, I’m left with a few questions: Will Dexter and Lundy be able to work together to catch the Trinity Killer? Will Angel and Maria get caught “doing it”? And will Dexter ever get some sleep?
I guess I’ll just have to wait until next week and see.
