The brothers Epps are back and ready for action.  Don has healed from his stab wound (which we saw last season) and Charlie (David Krumholtz) is ready to help him solve FBI crimes with mathematics.  Last season, we saw Charlie propose to Amita and this season we shall find out her answer.

In “Hangman”, a young political activist, Benjamin Polk,  comes to town.  He’s the son of a very rich man and is himself very spoiled.  After a horrible riot he piloted in Portland, he turned over a new leaf.  It is believed that he organized the violence so he could turn over this leaf and several people were killed.  A sniper has decided Benjamin Polk needs to die and warns the FBI by shooting at them in an open area.  As it turns out, his son was one of the arrested at the Portland rally and he died in a prison fight before he was bailed out.  The sniper, Shepard Crater (Gary Cole), blames Polk for his son’s death, but in the end he does not kill him due to a talk with Colby and David.

During this episode, Amita and Charlie avoid each other like the plague which we assume is because of the proposal.   Larry (Peter MacNicol) does his best to stay out of it, but he tries to help his friends get through what seems like a difficult time for them.  Charlie and Amita announce they are in fact engaged at the end of the show, that Charlie had to ask Amita’s parents for permission, and that they were avoiding each other so they didn’t spill the beans too early.

Numb3rs is one of my favorite shows and has been for a long time.  As I’ve said before, I’m usually a comedy girl, but I can’t help but love this show.  I’m a super nerd so watching how math (even if it doesn’t always work in real life) can help solve crimes is really cool to me.  I was not disappointed by “Hangman”, which showed the characters’ compassion for a man who’s lost his son, but still the drive to do their jobs correctly.  I’ll be glued to my television set for the reason of the season!

Here’s the preview for next week’s show:
