Always_Sunny_0602It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is one of those shows that you watch with morbid curiosity.  What’s going to happen to the gang this week?  What crazy scheme is going to occur?

In this week’s episode, the boys (Charlie, Frank, Dennis and Mac) decide they’re going to go to the Grand Canyon.  It’s Frank’s suggestion, but they feel compelled to go since Charlie’s never been out of the city before.  Dee shows up to the bar early in time to catch the guys leaving- they were going to ditch her.  She decides she’s going too, whether they like it or not.

The road trip starts with Dennis’ car and a trailer.  Charlie explains that while he’s never been out of Philly, he’s also never had a pear before.  The gang decides to go to the Italian market to enlighten Charlie.

They get stuck behind a bicyclist who decides to take up the road.  Mac throws a beer bottle at him, which smashes on his helmet and knocks him off the road just in time for Dennis to run over his bike, flatten two tires, and get mountain bike stuck in his axle.  Dennis decides to take Dee’s new car (which she bought before she caught the guys leaving) and they try to ditch Dee again.

They get to the Italian market, Charlie has a pear (which he does not enjoy) and they buy wicker chairs and a french press for the trailer.  Dee wants to play drinking games with Mac and Frank (Charlie moves to the trailer) so she picks up a hitchhiker, a young runaway going to Hollywood.  She drunkenly sings “Runaway Train” to him when everyone else falls asleep.  Charlie and Dennis lose the grill out the back of the trailer so they decide to break up the wicker chairs and burn them to cook hot dogs.  The smoke causes them to pass out and they’re rescued when the gang stops for a breather.  Charlie moves to the car with the hitchhiker and the gang falls asleep in the trailer.

When the gang wakes up, they find Dee’s car has been stolen.  Charlie asked the hitchhiker to drop him off at the bar because he didn’t want to leave Philly, and so the guy unhitches the trailer and takes the car.  The gang ends up back where they started and drink beer til the credits roll.

This episode was chock full of arguing, as most episodes are for this show, and the arguments just had me giggling constantly.  While the shows are almost completely episodic, I really enjoy watching the lives of Sweet Dee, Charlie, Mac, Dennis, and Frank.
