The latest episode of Bones, entitled  “The Bond In The Boot” aired last night.  This episode brought in an estimated 7.5 million viewers, which proves this is very popular crime drama. The episode begins on a roof top of an airport parking garage with a man standing there with a brief case handcuffed to his wrist. The man is shot by an unknown assailant who then cuts off his hand to steal the briefcase.

This is a great opening scene for a crime drama, if you ever wanted to see one. We later learn that the killer runs over the man’s body as he makes his getaway and the briefcase is supposed to contain diamonds.  At least that is what the FBI believes the man was killed for.

After the CIA gets involved and decides to take the bodies of two victims,  the team has about nine minutes to decode an image file and solve the case.

As it turns out, the brief case is tracked to a locker room.  Inside the locker room, the brief case is found with a pair of handcuffs still attached. Inside the brief case is a USB flash drive and they suddenly realize that the whole big mess was all about information, not diamonds.

Not only was this episode about this grizzly crime, Wendell is in jeopardy of losing his scholarship and his internship at The Jeffersonian. He needs a large sum of money to pay his fees and stay the course. In the end the money is raised to save the day. Kind of predictable if you ask me, but still a good ending for the show.
