The Spike TV show The Ultimate Fighter remains about as real as Reality TV can get. This is a real man-on-man Mixed Martial Arts fighting competition that takes you backstage with the training of the fighters, the selection process that determines who will fight, plus the underlaying emotions and thoughts of the fighters and trainers leading up to the fight … Oh yeah, and they fight.

This is just hardcore, in your face fighting that allows not only near bare-knuckle punching but also  kicking, choking and  submission holds.  If you don’t have a pool of blood on the ring mat after a fight, then that is a pretty good indication of how poor of a fight it was.

On last night’s episode, there was no blood.

Just two tired fighters who stood apart with their hands on their knees to get breath more so than anything else.  As far as The Ultimate Fighter goes this was a very lame exhibition and showed that this was indeed real reality TV, not something staged.   Sometimes in reality you get great fights and then, like last night, you get two guys James McSweeney, who won the fight, and big Wes Shivers, who gave it their all.  But it just was not a very exciting match.

Next week The Ultimate Fighter is expected to get some huge numbers in the rating as Kimbo Slice takes on Roy Nelson who is considered to be one of the top fighters in the field. Finally, we get to see what Kimbo Slice is made of. Check out what Kimbo has to say in this behind-the-scenes video.
