CSI_NY_0601CSI: NY – Crime Scene Investigation is a police drama that premiered on September 22, 2004, on CBS. The show was the second spin-off series from the original CSI and it came directly from an episode of CSI: Miami, where many of the CSI: NY characters made their first appearance.

The show entered into its sixth season with the premiere last night of an episode titled “Epilogue.”  The title is intriguing in and of itself, since the word epilogue is normally used at the end of a book for the story after the story.  Ah, but this is the follow-up to the end of last year’s finale, which would make this the end of the story.  Nice job on the title by the script writers.

The plot behind this episode was to find out who shot up a bar in a drive by shooting that killed the bartender and injured many other people, including a police officer.

The officer is left crippled with only a 10% chance of regaining the ability to walk.

This sister to a man who was runs with the group that shot up the bar calls the police hot-line and then meets with a couple of the CSI: NY officers, offering to provide them with information about the shooting in exchange for some type of immunity for her brother.

In the end she gets killed by one of the men from the notorious group in an effort to keep her from giving them up to the police.  Her brother then shoots and kills the man that shot her, then gives himself up. It turns out that the young woman’s brother wasn’t in the vehicle as his gang of city terrorist shot up the bar.

To track down her brother and his gang in order to solve the crime, CSI: NY showed a lot of the intricate details on how they are able to locate suspects using some of the latest investigative technology.
