Lincoln_Height_CastLincoln Heights is about a family living in a rough part of town that is being affected by crime and violence. It is a neighborhood fighting back to keep their neighborhood safe with the help of a police officer who decided to move his family back to his old neighborhood.

Lincoln Heights is a particularly interesting drama that deals with the problems of modern day war on drugs and crime along with an economy that tests even the best of people.  Overall it’s a very positive show that isn’t afraid to show the dark side of our modern culture in order to highlight the brightest areas more profoundly.

In the latest episode which aired on ABC television on September 21, 2009, the show focuses on the internal strife of officer Eddie Sutton’s family as they struggle to cope with his oldest son moving into the house.  Eddie’s 14 year old second son is feeling left out as the older brother he never knew seems to be bonding with their father.

With the oldest son comes his mother as well, which causes tension between Eddie and his wife, though nothing that suggest infidelity.

Still, there is the uneasiness of having an ex-girlfriend in their lives all of a sudden. Throughout the episode there seemed to be two strong, compelling sides of each situation with no obvious cause for the tension other than than the fralities of human emotion.

The oldest daughter finds herself caught up in an investigation in the death of her boyfriend’s abusive step father. That particular situations resolves itself, but not without more than one twists and turn along the way.   The youngest daughter is a freshman in high school trying to fit in. She ends up  getting involved with the “in” crowd and inadvertantly takes part in a cruel prank on another student.

A superbly written scrip, this was one of the episodes that distinguishes Lincoln Heights as a top TV drama.  Lincoln Heights is quality family programming filled with enough drama and tension to make it a top show.
