CBS television’s The Big Bang Theory is a comedy show that premiered on September 24, 2007, and is now in its third season. This situational comedy is set in Pasadena, California and is centered around two male prodigies in their twenties. Leonard is the experimental physicist and Sheldon a theoretical physicist at the California Institute of Technology, better known as Caltech.

The two guy’s geekiness and intellect provides a humorous contrast to Penny, an attractive blond waitress who lives across the hall from them with aspirations of being a famous Hollywood type star. Many times Penny is the center piece that makes The Big Bang Theory comedy work with her social skills and common sense in relation to Leonard, Sheldon and their two equally geeky friends Howard and Rajesh.

In the new season’s first episode, the group of friends are back from a research trip from the North Pole when they inform Sheldon that they changed the data on his report to put him in a better mood.

 Sheldon feels betrayed by his friends and is angry because he already notified his colleagues at the university of the success of the project.  Sheldon decides to resign from the university and go back home to live with his mother in Texas. Inevitably, his friends go after him in an effort to convince him to come back to California and the university with them.

The Big Bang Theory is the type of  show that provides very down to earth, goodhearted family comedy that anyone will enjoy.
