Accidentally On Purpose is a hilarious sitcom about two people who find each other, get pregnant and now have to deal with the consequences.
Jenna Elfman is Billie, a film critic for a newspaper run by her ex, James. They dated for three years and one month prior to this episode he brought her to the Eiffel tower only to not propose. She decides to get raging drunk with her friend Olivia and her sister Abby.
At the bar she meets Zach, a much younger guy who works as an assistant to a Sous Chef. He wants to own his own restaurant. After a few trysts Billie finds out she’s pregnant. She freaks, calms down, then tells the “boy toy.” He tells her he wants to be there for her and that his Dad walked out on him as a kid and he wants to be there for his baby.
She allows him to move in and crash on her couch.
Billie goes to work and her ex hits on her, tells her he’s ready to move in. In walks Zach, bringing Billie lunch and proudly announces she’s having his baby. They start to squabble and Billie breaks it up. Back at her apartment, Billie and Zach argue as she threatens to kick him out. She walks in her old office to find that he’s painted it lavender and made it into a nursery as a surprise. She lets him stay.
The budding relationship between these two was very sweet. The two actors have great chemistry together and the show made me laugh for than a few times, but then again, I adore Jenna Elfman. I can’t wait to see how all this turns out for Billie.
