Kate_at_dinnerThis week’s episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8 begins with Kate and her eight children taking a trip to an Amish family farm she refers to as Henry’s. The farm, being located near the house where she and the family used to live, brings back memories of the times when “things were easier” before she and Jon split. Kate does, however, admit that life without Jon is getting easier as she is learning to do things on her own and is successfully maintaining the household despite the overwhelming demands.

After catching up with her old Amish friend, Henry, at the farm, Kate talks about how much she misses her daily trips to the farm and how convenient it was to have the farm close by.

After walking through the wooden stands and admiring the fresh assortment of organic fruits and vegetables, she picks up a few items to use for dinner, and heads home. Kate decides to stop at a nearby playground to let the kids play for awhile. Their trip to the playground is cut short as the kids begin to complain about the heat and ask to go home.

Upon the completion of a great meal of chicken cacciatore and fresh corn, Kate and the kids head to the playroom for family game night. The family enjoys several games of gator golf, as well as some sort of seek and find picture game. While Kate is busy entertaining the kids, a sitter kindly takes one of the twins, Cara, to the family doctor to have a previously injured foot checked out. The doctor advises Kate to take Cara to the ER for X-rays, so Kate commences to putting her other seven children to bed and heads to the ER. Kate gladly announces that Cara’s foot is only bruised and will be fine in a few days. She wraps up things around the house as she prepares for Jon to take over custody the following day. Next week’s episode is titled Tea Party.
