Survivor: Samoa: The Puppet Master (S19E01)

The Survivor: Samoa premiere set the season up as a intense Survivor. The teams where chosen before the show and tribal chief where selected immediately, without ever speaking to their tribemates. The teams are as follows:

Survivor- Galu

Galu : Brett, Dave, Erik, John, Kelly, Laura, Monica, Russell S(Team Leader), Shannon (Shambo), Yasmin

survivior Foa Foa

Foa Foa : Ashley, Ben, Betsy, Elizabeth, Jaison, Marisa, Mick(Team Leader), Mike, Natalie, Russell H

Leaders had to choose who was the best swimmer, strongest, agile and smartest on their team. Mick picked Jaison and Russell Galu picked John as the swimmers. Russell H and Erik were chosen as the strongest. Marisa and Yasmin were chosen as the most agile and Elizabeth and Shambo are chosen as smartest.

Reward Challenge for Flint

The swimmer swam out into the ocean get a key, the strong person freed up bundles of logs to bring back to the mat to create stairs, the most agile person crossed a balance beam, freeing anthor key as they go and the smart person solved a puzzle. Foa Foa won the reward challenge.

Back at Camp

Russell H said that he didn’t get on Survivor to work… He came to play! He makes secret alliances with all the women.

Russell S tries to lead the tribe, John kept talking, so getting him under control may be Russell’s biggest challenge. Shambo wants him to whip everyone into shape.

Russell H told this tribe at camp that he was a fireman that lived in New Orleans during Katrina and was trapped by the water with his German Shepherd. As soon as he started this story I thought what a load of crap. I was right! Then, he emptied all the water out the canteens and burnt Jaison’s sock in the fire, which is all part of his strategy of making everybody miserable.

Immunity Challenge

Six members of each tribe raced over increasing higher and steeper obstacles, while carrying three coils of rope. They used that rope to pull a heavy crate to the finish platform, where the four remaining members disassembled the crate and to solve a puzzle. Galu won immunity.

Back at Camp

The tribe was talking about sending Ashley packing, but then Marisa told Russell that she does not like that he’s talking to everybody else when he’s supposedly in an alliance with her. Russell took offense to this and decided that Marisa has to go first.

Tribal Council

Betsy was as asked who the weak person was and answered Ashley. After Russell berated Marissa, she apologized.

When Jeff read the votes of 7 to 3, Marisa was voted out. Ben was obviously pleased. Russell has now proved that he really is in charge. (Ashley’s votes were from: Betsy, Marisa, and Mick)

My thoughts on this season are that we will have a few people we love to hate and and some we just hate, period. This always leads to a wonderful season of deceit, blindsides and backstabbing. I Love it.
