Reports of the dolls moving and people hearing mysterious voices are intensified by the recent death of the island’s caretaker. People now believe that the caretaker’s ghost haunts the island as well. Josh and the gang head down to Mexico to see if they can get to he bottom of this mysterious report, but first they must get permission from the new groundskeeper to investigate the island. While talking to the groundskeeper, he tells Josh they may investigate, but he wants them to make an offering to the little girl’s ghost.

Part One: Island of the Dolls
Heading into the marketplace for supplies, Mike receives a blessing from an old woman. Little did they know how much that blessing would probably come in handy later. Armed with a new doll, candles and candy for their offering, the team take a boat to the island, which is strewn with an array of demented baby dolls. After setting up base camp, Josh and Jael had over to make their offering to the little girl in the shed, and Jael comments that she can feel the girl’s spirit with them. They hear movement in the water behind them and stand up to look. Josh comes face to face with a doll and jokes that if the doll opens its eyes, he will soil himself. Lo and behold, the doll’s left eye pops open, startling both Josh and Jael.
This prompts Josh to have everyone spend private time alone in the shed trying to capture EVPs. Everyone’s sessions are relatively uninspired with no activity until Mike sits down. Immediately he starts hearing strange noises that sound like something is trying to get inside the shed. At one point they become so loud and terrifying that Mike flees the shed. While Josh is talking to Mike about his experience, the picks up a strange thermal image on the FLIR, and then three thermal orbs as well, but because of the canal, they are unable to investigate the orbs.
Back in the states, Josh teams up with Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango from Syfy’s Ghost Hunters to analyze the evidence. EVPs gathered at he scene seem to all sound like they are telling the investigators to leave, and both Steve and Tango agree that the evidence gathered by the Destination Truth team would suggest that the “Island of Dolls” was ripe with paranormal activity.
Part Two: The Lusca
In the second half of episode two, the team heads to the Caribbean to investigate reports of a cthuluesque giant octopus creature known to the locals as the lusca. Tunnels created during the last Ice Age beneath the Island of Andros are said to be home to this giant monster, and many local fisherman claim to have had dangerous encounters with the beast. Because of these encounters, the team can’t find a boat captain to take them out in the “blue holes” so Josh winds up captaining the boat himself.
The “blue holes” are centered inside the islands and connected by the tunnels beneath the island. They set out into the water, which is deadly and filled with dangerous reef, and Josh and Jael immediately suit-up to dive in and explore beneath the surface. Their first dive turns up nothing, and their second finds them surrounding by a frenzy of sharks, so they resurface and Josh decides to dive a third time on his own. On this dive he discovers a deep cavern and encounters a massive shadow in the dark that retreats. Because the holes are connected, the team packs up gear and heads over to the opposite hole in hopes of catching whatever it was Josh saw on the other side.
This dive is the most dangerous dive of Josh’s career, as he will go to depths he’s never attempted and may encounter problems with the bends. With the medical team on standby, Josh descends into the deep, and it isn’t long before they lose touch with him. The water is dark, and later as they analyze the evidence in search of the lusca, it’s impossible to make out anything definitive. Josh does sit down and talk with a marine biologist who agrees that in an area that has seen so little exploration, yet has all of the right conditions, the possibility of a giant octopus is very real. The lusca eluded the team on this venture, but tune in again next week as Josh Gates and crew embark on another exciting destination in search of the truth.
