It was the chicken farmer who flew the coop. On the season’s final episode of America’s Got Talent, which is a hugely successful American reality television show, we discovered Americans do have talent.
The show aired on the NBC television network on September 16th, 2009, and 12.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the finale. The talent show featured a wide ranging field of performers. Not just singing but of course the show did feature some great singers along with dancers and even comedians.
Along with the top prize of one million US dollars that winner Kevin Skinner will be paid in a financial annuity over forty years, he will also be the headliner of a show on the Las Vegas Strip.
I’m not really sure how many country singers are headlined on the Vegas Strip, but here comes Kevin Skinner.
“I’ve always loved to perform,” Skinner said. “I want to go out there, and give ‘em the best show I can.” His best was good enough for one million dollars and this was no hand-me-over contest. There were some incredible acts that he beat out to win the America’s Got Talent prize.
The singing competition in particular was really good. Skinner had to beat out fellow singers Lawrence Beamen, Drew Stevyns, and a great singing trio out of Texas. In all there were ten finalist that competed in the final episode.
