Melrose Place: Nightingale (S01E02)

The new Melrose place is adding suspense and fascinating story lines to the CW Tuesday night line up. Last week the apartment mates discovered a dead body, got engaged and made choices that could change their lives.

Ella’s new boss… Ella’s company has merged and everyone is being let go. Ella refuses to take it laying down. She barges into her new boss’ office, Caleb Brewer. She promises she can sign a big actor named Jasper before Monday.

Lauren’s new “Job”… Lauren is at work when Toby calls her and tells her he has another friend will to pay her for a “date.”  She’s disgusted at first and calls him her “pimp.” After having problems setting up a payment plan, she has a talk with Ella who tells her to do whatever she has to, to be a doctor.

Party of thieves, escorts and  ambushes…

Ella weasels her way into a party with David’s invite, David who  is attending the party to steal a one of a kind watch. Ella ambushes Jasper at the party to convenience him to let her be his publicist. After being propositioned by Jasper,  she has him drop his pants and then snaps a picture of his genitals. She then goes into a long speech about publicity. This causes Jasper to sign with her and tell Caleb she’s the most “ballsy” publicist he’s ever met.

Lauren shows up at the party with her “date,” where she runs into Ella and David (awkward). She plays it off well. Later in the night, after she sleeps with him, it’s obvious that she is uncomfortable with this new role.

Jealousy and love… Riley and Jonah are becoming jealous of the other sex relationships they have. Riley is unsure of Ella’s intentions and Jonah is uncomfortable with Riley’s friendship with Augie. 

Auggie’s past... The Auggie and Violet story line took the main stage this episode. Auggie met Sydney at AA. Auggie’s ex was killed because of a fight Auggie got into. Auggie also killed the guy that stabbed his ex. Police seem to interested in Auggie and Sidney’s relationship. He did see Sydney on the night of her death, she was doing drugs and drinking. A fight insued and she cut him in the back with a knife. Auggie is also trying to help Violet get a job at the restaurant he works for.

Violet’s secret… Violet is at first refused the job, but when she returns dressed in a tight black dress (extremely slutty), she gets the job. Violet’s secret is revealed. She is Sidney’s daughter. Sidney refuses to believe it even when she steals hair from Sid and has the DNA tested. This made Violet angry. Did she have something to do with Sid’s murder?

So far, Melrose Place is an enthralling drama that started with a bang and has not eased off yet.
