Lincoln Heights is an ABC original series that is an amazing positive show. The season premier Of Lincoln Heights aired September 14, 2009, and it really was a great episode that truly defined what the series is all about: family and community.

The show picked up from last season’s cliffhangers.  With the setting of the movie being in California, the neighborhood was recovering from an earthquake that damaged their home and forced the parents to consider moving out of the old neighborhood into a much more upscale subdivision.

There multiple internal conflicts about the move from their children who have grown to love the crime infested streets that teams with both ugliness, warmth and pride all rolled into one.  When the father, Eddie Sutton, being the only police officer living in the Lincoln Heights community, and his wife Jenn decide to move out the people who had grown to trust and appreciate his commitment to his old childhood neighborhood are very critical about that choice.

A very touching moment was when the community came together to tear down an old abandoned home that had been the center of crack cocaine users. Watching all of their soon to be ex-neighbors joining their spirit and effort to solve a problem the city government seemed incapable of solving  triggered a surprise turn of events in the lives of the Sutton family.

This season opening episode of Lincoln Heights is a moving storyline that really brought out a sense of real life drama in the lives of a neighborhood who manage to find peaceful ways to overcome obstacles that seem almost to big to be overcome.
