Everyone that I know has at least one reality show that is their little “guilty pleasure.” There is something fascinating about watching everyday people battle it out for a prize or change their lives. A list of reality TV shows of all time would take hours to read. So I have combed the ratings charts on all reality TV to bring you the top 5 reality TV shows of all time.
5. The Biggest Loser
The Biggest Loser started out to try to motivate the American public to get up and work out. This show follows groups of extremely overweight people, who are put into teams, put on strict diets and work out 8 to 10 hours a day to lose weight.

The Amazing Race has, like many of the other best reality TV shows, stood the test of double digit seasons. The Amazing Race shows us groups of people from all over America that go on the biggest scavenger hunt in the world. Taking the contestants from country to country finding clues and completing challenges for prizes and the grand prize for the winner.
3. The Real World
The Real World first aired in 1992, with a group of 20 somethings living together. The Real World has had over 21 seasons of the chaos that ensues when people from different lifestyles are forced to live in the same house. The Real World is the longest running reality TV show on MTV or any cable network.

American Idol is a questionable show. Some people will argue it is not a reality show it is a talent show, other disagree. American Idol searches America to find the next great American music star. American Idol does have an average higher rating that the number 1 show, but because of the confusion on whether it is reality or not I have listed it at 2.

Survivor is the battle to “Outwit, Outplay, and Outlast” other contestants in the wild for 1 million dollars. Survivor chooses an new exotic location every season and puts contestants through unbelievable tasks and 39 days of rigorous mind games. Survivor first aired in 2000, from Borneo.
