SYTYCDExcitement is in the Fall air with the first primetime season, of the Emmy-nominated So You Think You Can Dance, since the inception of the show,  in 2005. The series premieres on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, on FOX.

Just when you thought the show was finished for the year, the dancers are back, and I hear they are in full form. But question marks abound. Is the show really ready to capture the interest of dance lovers on a year round basis? Can the production compete with the well-loved Dancing with the Stars? Is good raw talent even available? Will Paula Abdul bring her winsome talents to the show, in some capacity?

In separate TV Guide interviews with judges Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe, only a few revelations of the kick-off show were given by Murphy.

She admits that the show is set to begin in Los Angeles, and she believes that a more well-rounded group of dancers is on board for the Fall series. Lythgoe, on the other hand, admits to pursuing Abdul since season one began. He says he would love to have her as a permanent judge or choreographer, and is hoping that she will finally accept, if she is really and truly AWOL from American Idol. I wonder if Lythgoe knows that the president of ABC, Stephen McPherson, has his eye on Abdul for Dancing With the Stars.

So tune in on Wednesdays, to see if FOX and So You Think You Can Dance are able to pull off the big time, and keep loyal viewers mesmerized by dance, while fans wait for the January premiere of American Idol, sans Abdul.
