Sometimes any relationship can get a little bit stale. It doesn’t mean that you and your boyfriend or husband are no longer in love, but it is natural that after the initial excitement of a relationship fades, you can start to feel like your relationship has fallen into a little bit of a rut. The minute you start feeling like your relationship has started to get boring, you know it’s time to try and spice up your relationship with your guy.
Spicing up your relationship can be fun, and it can definitely bring the two of you closer together. Start with something neither of you have ever done, something that you will always remember having done together. Think about trying skydiving or parasailing.
What could be more exciting than jumping out of a plane hand in hand with your love? There have been psychological studies which prove that the thrill of exciting acts will rub off on the person you’re with, leading you to forever associate the excitement you felt with your guy. Your guy will look at you and remember the thrill of the jump, and what could be a better spice for a relationship than that?
If you and your guy are not quite up to jumping out of planes to find excitement, there are plenty of other things that you can do to add some spice to your relationship when it starts to get a little slow. Think about learning something new together–anything from a cooking class to rock climbing courses will bring the two of you together as you learn a new skill. Even after the classes have ended you will have a new activity that the two of you can enjoy together.
Not feeling up to trying something new outside of the house? Try making time for a special night together once a week. You can rent a movie, pop some popcorn, and cuddle together on the couch or work together to cook a tasty meal. By making sure that the two of you have alone time each week to process and share the events of one another’s lives, you can make sure that you do not grow apart from one another even during your slow period. Every relationship has a few growing pains as it evolves, and your relationship may be no different.
You can also try simply reminding your guy why the two of you love each other. Tuck a note and a piece of his favorite candy into his briefcase in the morning, or send him some saucy pictures via e-mail while he’s at work. Do something to tell him that you are thinking of him, and that you cannot wait to see him, and when you do see him he will probably respond positively.
Just the fact that you want to spice up your relationship with your guy can be enough. Tell him that you’re looking to respark your passion, and he might have some intriguing ideas of your own.
