With the increase in time spent at work, commuting, on the computer or at other outside obligations, families are finding themselves with less and less time to just relax and enjoy each other’s company. An annual family reunion is a great way to get everyone together. You can schedule it in advance so everyone can make plans to be there. It doesn’t always have to be a huge gathering either, even just an annual family backyard barbeque is a nice event that the family can look forward to.

It seems like with sports and after school activities, families do not always get a chance to sit down to dinner together. Figure out the best day and plan a weekly family meal, like Friday dinner or Sunday breakfast. This gives everyone a chance to share what has been going on in their lives and also fill each other in on any important upcoming events. Phone calls are strictly prohibited.
Plan activities that the whole family can enjoy together. Camping, swimming, biking, movies, or anything that everyone can participate in. Make it a big deal when someone makes the honor roll, wins the big game, gets a promotion, or learns how to tie their shoes.
